Kelly:But I can’t remember ever telling my mum that I love ’er either. (Interviewer: Mmm.) ’cos she’s never said it to me. (Interviewer: Mmm.) And I’ve never—never ’ad—as a little girl, come and sit on my knee. Big as what my daughter is, I’ll still pull ’er and you know, like, she won’t sit on my knee, but I mean I like still pull ’er and say “let’s ’ave a” you know, like a cuddle, or “give me a kiss” or whatever. She’ll push me away and say “go on!” you know. But I can’t remember any time at all. I can from my dad.

Interviewer:Mmm. I was going to say what about your dad, even though you were only 12 when he died.

Kelly:Em, (pause) I can—I can’t remember ’aving any bad times with me dad. I can remember like good times.16
